Apparently Larry Matysik's book on the life of Bruiser Brody has been released or is just in the process of doing so-This must be read,if it's even half as good as "Wrestling at The Chase".

Just started "The Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame:The Heels"by Greg Oliver and Steven Johnson-Fantastic book.I pride myself on my knowledge of Wrestling history, and I'm being exposed to people I've either never heard of or heard the name in passing.Example-Lord Landsdowne-using a British gimmick in the late 30's-before the start of WW2-had live bands play "God Save the King"for his entrances-early 40's,Valets-also early 40's-Years before Gorgeous George. This book is recommended.

Just got the book"Brody:The Triumph and Tragedy of Wrestling's Rebel"by Larry Matysik and Barbara Goodish(Bruiser's widow)-PHENOMENAL book so far.5 Stars out of 5-even better than "Wrestling at The Chase".Next up Tim Hornbaker's "History of the National Wrestling Alliance",if I can find it.

Brody took no shit from Promoters and other Workers, and did not suffer fools gladly, and was one of the smartest men in the Business to boot.A classic.

Hell's Angels:A Strange and Terrible Saga by the King of Gonzo lit,Hunter S Thompson, is a Superb look into the Diseased Underbelly of American Society in the 60's.It is a Picture of such depravity and Violence that it frankly brings me a perverse sort of pleasure to read it.

Great book!
Actually, if you are into depravity and violence... the following is a great, yet disturbing book on the same subject Hell's Angels: Three Can Keep a Secret If Two Are Dead' by Y. Lavigne -Marc

I remember the Bill Murray film from around 1980 or so called "Where the Buffalo Roam.....", which was loosely based on Dr. H. S. Thompson. (not to be confused with the Johnny Depp film "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas".).
Murray later commented that Thompson would drop by once & awhile as a "consultant" on the film. Whenerver Hunter did visit, Murray would be too drunk/stoned to work for the next 24 hours.

Just started reading "The Rebel League:The Short and Unruly Life of the World Hockey Association" by Ed Willes-Hilarious-How the WHA managed to survive 7 Years is beyond me.At times You get the Feeling they would have Fucked up a Lemonade stand. However, they did change the Financial landscape in Hockey(for better or worse depending on Your perspective)and Ushered in the Era of Big money Guarantees. Also they shook the NHL out of it's complacency,at least in the short term.
