Indeed it can-now some of the banks up here are being investigated in the sub-prime mortgage scam as many of them have U.S.holdings,so the Canadian taxpayer may be on the hook to pay something. How You ask?Oh trust Me,our next Government, whoever it may be,WILL find a way.

No clear knockout winner, IMO. Probably a slight edge to McCain, in that Obama has an aura of being a terrfic speaker, but McCain definitely kept even with him last night, which may have surprised a few people.
The VP debate next week should be VERY interesting.
Did u see our US debate last night, Vito?

The thing is they will bail out corporate America like that. But what about the little guy that is losing their house or is being killed with credit card debt? it is all bullshit, the government would save a shitload of money if they gust audited their own branches and got their employees on the same pay scale as private employees. I know of a temp company that is receiving $32 an hour and the temp is getting $21 an hour for a receptionings. This is a job that pays on average here $12-$14 and hour. how can these idiots justify this. No wonder countries are in such financial termoil , these assholes don't know what a budget is like every working person does. Also if they can't budget and watch spending how can we expect these idiots to run our countries, because lets face it budgeting should be the easy part.

The problem in a nutshell is that there is no real oversight in any of the departments,Money is being given away to every special interest group, based purely on whatever whim some minor functionary in that Government department that day. They have to justify their jobs somehow, except there is no justification. As far as the subprime mortgage deal goes, the Banks and finance companies made a fundamentally stupid decision, lending Money to people with no liquidity and whose assets were worth less than the actual amount of the loan. Why were people with substandard credit histories given loans?Stupidity and greed.

The thing is they won't give someone a mortgage for a house who has been paying say 1200 a month for rent, and the mortgage they will be paying is the same or less and they have a downpaymentof 5-10 thousand. It is bullshit and there needs to be changes.
And they government should come up with something to help people buy homes or refinance if there is a forclosure. Would help more people than the idiots they are bailing out now.
These govornments are similar, probably becasue it came from the commonwealth parlimantary system. Oh and we choose the same kind of slick talking scumbags to run our country and to office in general.

I don't think the Government should be in the Business of helping people with housing. Why?Because the revenue has to come from somewhere, and it ends up being a case of reallocation of resources, from one group of taxpayers to the other, and in the end, both lose.

Nor do I really but if they are going to help people out, what about the average tax payer instead of their big business buddies.

Latest public opinion polls in the Canadian Election show the Conservatives with the lead, but still not enough to form a Majority. So this Election was a wash.

That is alright. A non majority government prevents people from pushing their own agendas through.
